Raja Yoga
By Ada Hawkins
Yoga is much more than a series of postures. Yoga is a way of being that brings clarity, joy, strength and flexibility, and a sense of profound well-being. Raja Yoga is the over-arching approach to Yoga that addresses each aspect of life and harmonizes it. Yoga improves our experience of ourselves as it is applied to every aspect of life. Physical health and vitality is increased with Yoga postures. Meditation clarifies our minds and soothes our emotions. Ayurveda works with diet, nutrition, and our environment. Affirmations help eliminate paralyzing thought-forms that keep us bound. Pranayam (breathwork) gives us control over our life force. Yoga philosophy assists us in understanding how life works and how to live from the center of our own being.
